Frustrated with the feeling that the COVID-19 pandemic is never. going. to. end. I wanted to do something new (to me) and creative where I would be encouraged to not take myself — or the project itself — too seriously. As I continued to stay home, ‘snail mail’ became one of my lifelines to the outside world. While I would be overjoyed upon receiving a package, plant, or an art print purchased in an effort to surround myself with beauty, I also increasingly found myself with a surplus of envelopes.

Having long been a fan of collage, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to foray into the medium and do something with these envelopes that would otherwise be thrown away (Because… aren’t we all donating online these days?). Even on the worst news days — and there have been a lot — for around five minutes I escape and make a small collage on one of these envelopes.
